Upcoming Shows!
For the third year in a row, in January, 2023, we will set up a new installation, this year called The Desk, on the fence along the Griegos Lateral. It will be a draft of thoughts, sharing feelings and questions with the spectator.

And we're working on a new show, Ponder..., which will be between a show and a game, for outdoor encounters, from parks to bosque trails. Ponder... hopes to be a connection between feelings, philosophy and art. Add to that a zest of humor, a dollop of self-derision, then shake well. Et Voila!

And we will launch a raffle-fundraiser, Time Out on the Land, to support the creation of Ponder...
The raffle drawing for three winners, will take place at midnight on February 27, 2023.

News Flash: First recipient of The Henry Fund for Performing Arts!
The Art of Being a Spectator Project, funded by UETF of the City of Albuquerque, is almost ready to roll!
Forty puppet theatre performances for grades 3 - 5, each followed by an intensive workshop, will be available for one or two classes at a time, beginning in September, 2012. One of several goals: using art as a pedagogical tool.

The Henry Fund for the Performing Arts, administered by the Albuquerque Community Foundation, has honored us as the first recipient of funding in honor of Zona Henry. We will perform "String," and "It's Time!" for Head Start children and families in the 2012-2013 season. We look forward to deepening our relationship with teachers and staff about introducing young children to art.

Email us at loren@lorenkahnpupet.com or call us at 505-344-2186

We look forward to speaking with you!

“It’s Time”

An object theatre production for the very young, performed by Isabelle Kessler. The show was created for the age when each moment is a discovery and magic is in the emotions. Simplicity and tranquility are explored; a haiku of movement and form.

“Wonderful”... “Magical”... “astonishing”... “so great”...”What a wonderful, novel form of expression. It stimulates the imagination and what a creative way to do so for children. Bravo!” -Head Start teachers

Audience maximum: 40 children (ages 2-5) plus any comfortable number of adults. Set dimensions: 9’ x 12’, benches and lights provided. Running time: approx. 30 minutes. Travel and lodging (1 room) may incur additional costs.

“Insomnia”

A new puppet and object theatre production for adults.
“Take a dark and stormy night. Add a teaspoon of bad conscience, an ounce of guilt, a pinch of regret, (go easy on the regret), a dollop of confused thoughts (very popular), be generous with a large cup of memories, sprinkle with hope, shake vigorously: welcome to the Realm of Insomnia!”

With theatre, puppets, objects, music, language, and movement, Insomnia explores the struggles we have when we are awake, with time to think..... Two actors and a puppeteer wrestle with visitors who surface during this sleepless night. On a huge sea of rumpled sheets, the insomniac tackles rambunctious yet philosophical thoughts and themes.

"The music was just superb. The buzz, early in the show, just set the whole night of thrashing and weirdness into me. I know that buzz in the night. Every part of the music was thrilling and added viscerally to the visual piece."

Audience maximum: 60 with stage or tiered seating; 40 on flat surface. Set dimensions: 18’ x 12’ x 9’H ceiling; lights provided, benches for smaller venues. Must be dark or black box. Running time: approx. 55 minutes including 20-minute discussion. Travel and lodging (2 rooms) may incur additional costs.
